Local Moving in Los Angeles and Orange County

Local moving with AG Moving&Storage means an hourly crew that packs, pads, loads and places everything you own without leaving the two counties we call home.

The service fits apartments, houses and small offices alike. If your move crosses out of the area but stays in the state, the long-distance California page covers that route instead; the crews and the estimate cap stay the same.

How Your Local Move Works

Your local move works in five steps, and the first one is free. You send the quote form or call (818) 391-8215 with addresses and room count, and we put a number in writing.

On move day the crew arrives with a 24-ft truck: 2 movers on a baseline job, 3 or 4 on larger homes. Door shields and floor runners go up first. Furniture gets a blanket and film before it moves an inch, boxes ride in speed-packs, and clothes hang in loaner wardrobe boxes.

Then we load, drive and place. The crew marks rooms so cartons land where they belong, and the job ends when your furniture stands where you point, not when the truck door closes.

How much do local movers typically cost?

Local movers cost what the clock says: crew size, times hours, at a rate you approve before anyone lifts a box.

Our structure is open even though the full quote is personal. A 2-mover crew with the truck is the baseline, with hourly rates from $119, and each additional mover adds $40 per hour, and California Double Drive Time applies on moves over 10 miles, which is state law, not our invention. Free estimates come by phone or through the form.

No deposit on standard bookings. Same-day and last-minute bookings may require a deposit, confirmed with your quote. However it prices, you will not pay more than the original estimate.

Materials Included at No Extra Cost

Materials ride free on every quoted move: door shields, floor runners, up to 8 loaner wardrobe boxes, speed-pack boxes, ramps and straps, unlimited wrap and tape, and thick moving blankets.

That list is not a promotion; it is how the crew works. The wrap protects your furniture, the runners protect your floors, and none of it shows up as a line item on the bill.

What are red flags with movers?

Red flags with movers start with silence: no license number, no written estimate, no straight answer on how drive time bills.

Compare that against what you can check here. USDOT 3610341, CA 602741 and MC 1525501 sit in the footer of every page, and you can look them up on the federal register. The estimate is free, written, and the final bill cannot pass it.

One more test: a mover should ask questions. Stairs, elevator access, long carries, item counts. A price that arrives without them is a hook, not an estimate.

Where We Do Local Moves

We do local moves across all of Los Angeles County and Orange County, from our Norwalk base out through Long Beach, Downey, Cerritos, Lakewood, Bellflower, Buena Park and Cypress, and up through Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Torrance.

Many of those cities have pages of their own on this site. If you live between two of them, you are in the area.

Frequently asked questions

How much do local movers typically cost?

Local moves price by the hour: crew size, hours worked and access set the figure. AG Moving&Storage baselines at 2 movers with a 24-ft truck, adds $40 per hour for each extra mover, and applies California Double Drive Time on moves over 10 miles. The free written estimate caps your final bill.

How much should I pay one mover for 3 hours?

For a one-mover, three-hour job the honest route is a labor-only booking, billed at the same hourly rate as our moving jobs and quoted free up front. Three hours covers a small load-out or rearranging a room; add a second mover and heavy pieces stop being a gamble.

Who are the cheapest movers?

The cheapest mover on a search page is usually the one whose quote leaves the most out. Judge total cost instead: materials, drive time, deposits and overrun risk. Our estimates are free, materials come included, and the written figure caps your bill, so the number you compare is the number you pay.
